Something about us
Welcome to Dare2Care Pediatrics
I worked for many years at a group practice and there I learned about patient care, how to help people, and the ins and outs of a practice. However, in a large group practice you have less clinical liberty. We as doctors are bullied into the belief that volume matters. More than anything, I wanted to be different; I did not want to only focus on this idea of quantity over quality. So, I tried to incorporate back then the things I do now like nutrition and extra attention on developmental issues, but in an eight physician practice with 30+ employees, it’s hard. You have to maintain a volume more than anything because of the cost. My co-workers especially did not agree with the comprehensive care that I was focused on, so I grew disgruntled. After three years, I forced myself to leave the group practice.
Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.
In between the time of quitting the old practice and opening a new one, I had the privilege of working with socioeconomically disadvantaged children and children in the DFACS foster care system who have behavioral health needs. Working with those kids opened a whole new world. I had never met foster kids that had gone through that intense of trauma. So, seeing kids that had to go through things that are unimaginable and still having dreams and aspirations was a real eye opener. It taught me that nothing should bring a child down and it gave me the strength to move from the foster care system to opening my own practice.
When I was coming up with the name for what is now Dare2Care pediatrics, I was looking for something that was unique. I knew that some doctors fell under the pressure of the insurance companies and I did not want that for me. I wanted a name that defined me and the goals that I had set for the office. I do not think that kindness and vulnerability are weaknesses, so I dare to be kind and be vulnerable in order to bring the best care that I can bring for the children and their parents. I dare to care for the patients that walk into my office, regardless of their diseases or their demographic background.
Daring to care was something that both me and my staff understand. My staff consists of strong, working individuals who push themselves and me to provide the most for our patients. Our team consists of onsite therapists, CMAs, a referral coordinator, nutritionists, and local interns. In our practice, I and my staff will wholeheartedly embrace that a holistic approach to deal with not only children’s physical well-being but their emotional and mental well-being as well is critical. At Dare2Care Pediatrics, we consider it both a great joy and responsibility to care for children. I and my staff strive to be understanding and available to the families we are privileged to serve. We are honored that you have chosen us as your child’s primary medical provider and are confident that you will be pleased with the quality of care and service that we can provide you and your family.
Your child’s health is as important to us as it is to you. We look forward to providing you with excellent medical care.
