From 2010, Dr. Ayer served as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In this role, he collaborated with physicians to deliver exceptional pre- and post-operative care, mentored coworkers to uphold high standards of care, and served as a first assist in the operating room. Previously, he worked as a Certified Pediatric Neurology Nurse at the same institution from 2008 to 2011, further honing his expertise in pediatric neurology.

Dr. Ayer’s commitment to education extended beyond healthcare. As a former Middle School Science Teacher at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic School, he developed engaging curricula and integrated advanced technologies to enhance learning outcomes.

An Ohio native, Dr. Ayer has been a lifelong fan of Cleveland sports and Ohio State football. He has played soccer and golf throughout his life and continues to enjoy both. His love for music inspired countless memorable date nights, attending a different concert almost every week for years. A passionate traveler, Dr. Ayer treasures exploring new destinations and cherishes time with his two beloved fur babies: Millie, a 1-year-old cat, and Harper, a 6-year-old dog.

Dr. Ayer has been with his wife since 2002. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who worked in a K-8 school before opening her own private practice. For the past 15 years, she has been an independent clinician, primarily seeing children but also working with clients of all ages.

Dr. Ayer’s achievements included numerous honors such as the Golden Key Honors Society, Blue Key Honors Recipient, and the Daisy Award, reflecting his dedication to excellence and patient-centered care. A technology enthusiast, he gained over a decade of experience with the EPIC patient management system and played a pivotal role in training Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in General Surgery.

Known for his clinical acumen, leadership skills, and zest for life, Dr. Ayer has made a significant impact in pediatric healthcare while cherishing his family, personal passions, and the joy of helping others.
