When Dare2Care Pediatrics is closed, call (770) 615-7000 first for the after-hours line. This page lists nearby Children’s urgent cares, emergency departments and labs, with hours.
What to do first
Life-threatening emergency? Call 911.
Call us first
Call (770) 615-7000 any time. When the office is closed, the call goes to our after-hours line, and the clinician on call can help you decide whether it can wait until morning, needs urgent care or needs the emergency department.
Same-day sick visits Monday to Friday, in the office or by video.
Children’s urgent care
For a problem that cannot wait until we open and is not an emergency. Choose a pediatric urgent care when you can, and ask them to send us the visit note.
- A cut that may need stitches, a sprain or a possible simple fracture
- A rapid strep, flu or COVID-19 test after hours
- A child who is getting worse, cannot keep fluids down, or you are worried
Emergency department
For emergencies. Go to the nearest emergency department, or call 911 if your child needs help on the way.
- Trouble breathing, blue or gray lips
- A seizure, or a child who is very hard to wake
- A serious injury: a head injury with vomiting or confusion, a deep wound, a bone out of shape
- A severe allergic reaction with swelling of the face or throat

Which lab? Check your insurance card
Your insurance plan decides which lab is covered. Check the card or call the member services number on the back before you go, and call the lab ahead if the test is for an infant or young child.
Went to urgent care or the ER?
Let us know the next business day so we can follow up. Call or text us, or send a message in the patient portal, and ask the clinic to fax the visit note to (770) 884-4170. We review it, adjust any medicine and schedule a recheck if one is needed.
Questions parents ask
Should I go to urgent care or the emergency department?
Urgent care is for problems that cannot wait until we open but are not emergencies, such as a cut that may need stitches or a possible simple fracture. The emergency department is for trouble breathing, a seizure, a serious injury or a severe allergic reaction. If you are unsure, call us first: the after-hours line can help you decide. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Which lab should we use for blood work?
The one your insurance plan covers. Check your card or call member services, and call the lab ahead if the test is for an infant or young child, because not every location draws blood from small children.
Is there an after-hours line?
Yes. Call the main number, (770) 615-7000. When the office is closed, the call goes to our after-hours line for urgent concerns. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
Should I follow up with my pediatrician after an urgent care or ER visit?
Yes. Call, text or message us the next business day. We review the visit note, adjust any medicine and schedule a recheck if one is needed, so your child’s record stays complete.
