Why families drive past closer offices

What Cumming families get here

Forsyth County has many good pediatric practices. Families choose to come one exit south for a few specific reasons: an independent practice where the same two providers see your child at every visit, NCQA medical home recognition, a doctor with additional training in behavioral and developmental health, care in Spanish, and Georgia Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids accepted alongside commercial plans, which is rarer than it should be.

Newborns born at Northside Hospital Forsyth, Northside Atlanta or Emory Johns Creek are seen here within three to five days of discharge; call before you leave the hospital and we hold the slot. School and sports forms for Forsyth County Schools, including the Georgia certificate of immunization (Form 3231) and the ear, eye and dental form (3300), are completed at the visit.

Questions

Questions from Cumming families

Do you take Forsyth County Medicaid plans?

Georgia Medicaid plans are statewide. We participate with Amerigroup Community Care, CareSource and Peach State Health Plan, PeachCare for Kids and straight Georgia Medicaid, and we are accepting new Medicaid patients. Choose Dare2Care Pediatrics as your child’s primary care provider in your plan’s portal; our insurance page shows how.

Is the drive worth it when my child is sick?

For most of south Forsyth it is 10 to 20 minutes, and you will be seen the same day by a doctor who knows your child. For emergencies, go to the nearest emergency department; Northside Forsyth and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite are the closest with pediatric care.

Can you complete Forsyth County school forms?

Yes. Georgia Forms 3231 and 3300, sports physicals on the GHSA form, and daycare and camp forms are completed at the well visit, and we send the immunization certificate through GRITS.

Do you see newborns born at Northside Forsyth?

Yes. Call before discharge and we schedule the first visit for three to five days after you go home, sooner if the hospital asks.
