Across the river
Duluth is closer than the county line suggests
Duluth is in Gwinnett County and we are on the Forsyth and Fulton side of the Chattahoochee, but the river is the only thing between us: Rogers Bridge Park now connects on foot to Cauley Creek Park in Johns Creek, and by car it is one road most of the way.
Duluth children attend Gwinnett County Public Schools, usually the Duluth cluster: Duluth High on Brock Road, Duluth Middle on Pleasant Hill Road and Coleman Middle on Main Street. Georgia’s school forms are statewide, so nothing changes at the county line: we complete Form 3231 and Form 3300 at the visit and send immunization records through GRITS. Georgia Medicaid and PeachCare plans are statewide too.
For evenings and weekends, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta runs an urgent care on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth. Northside Hospital Duluth on Howell Ferry Road has a 24-hour emergency department, and the closest dedicated pediatric emergency centres are Northside’s in Lawrenceville and the Children’s emergency departments in Atlanta. Babies from Duluth are most often born at Northside Gwinnett or Emory Johns Creek, and are seen here two to three days after discharge.

No. Georgia Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids are statewide, and the school forms are the same in every county. We complete Gwinnett County Public Schools paperwork the same way we do Fulton and Forsyth.
What is the quickest way over?
Abbotts Bridge Road to McGinnis Ferry Road for most of Duluth: 16 to 30 minutes midmorning. From the Sugarloaf side, McGinnis Ferry Road the whole way.
Where should we go at night?
Call us first; the main number reaches our after-hours line when the office is closed. Children’s urgent care on Satellite Boulevard is the closest pediatric urgent care, and where to go when we are closed lists it with the emergency departments, hours and directions.
